Forgot about this book. Reread this book for class. Sobbed like a baby. Long live frindles!

"But of course, all of this is just a silly fad, and when you add an "e" to fad, you get fade. And I predict this fad will fade." ~ Really cute, but not quite as clever as I was expecting. I wish I could remember when/where/how that expectation came about.

LOVED it! I love reading Andrew Clements' books and I am surprised I just got around to reading this one! I also was excited to see that Brian Selzick did the illustrations.

It's kind of hard to believe that I am an elementary school teacher, yet I had never read Frindle! I was pleasantly surprised by this story of a boy's fascination with words and his curiosity about possibilities. This is a great lesson about what it means to have an idea, to take a stand, to step and out and take a chance, and ultimately about respecting others. I loved this short little book. I'm glad I finally picked it off the shelf!

I loved this book. I hope it teaches kids to get out there and make a little mischief every now and then. :)

One of the fourth grade teachers requested this book for an outside reading project (ORP) and I had it at home to re-read this fun story. Luckily it's a quick read. I always forget how actually great a book this is, because it's so often used by teachers and talked about / requested... I forget the hype is deserved. (The same thing happened to me with The Hunger Games until I re-read the first book.)

Cute little children's book I can't quite remember the entire book since it was so long ago i read it.

This week we completed our "One Book, One School" reading of Frindle by Andrew Clements. During the first month of school we all read the exact same book... I love the concept and I love the result of being able to engage in book talk over a shared book with family, bus drivers, custodians, cafeteria ladies, teachers and other students.

Followed along as my son finished chapters. Very cute book.
