I loved this concept. Neverland, but make it vaguely sinister. I liked how Wendy was written. Feminist, but she felt true to the time period, rather than feeling like a modern woman with modern sensibilities dropped into the past. Wendy being asexual was also a nice touch. Same with Ned being gay.
I would have liked more from Mary. I appreciate that the author touched on the racism around the Tiger Lily, Mary still seemed like she existed only to support Wendy. I wanted more of her story, more of her rediscovering herself and her identity. I know you can only include so much in a book, but still...
About to start the next one. I can't wait to see what this author does with Captain Hook!

I really enjoyed this book up until the end. It honestly gripped me from the very beginning and I found it very easy to read (which is very nice when you’re commuting to work and you’re exhausted). However, the ending felt sloppy and inconclusive. It didn’t really have a true definitive ending which isn’t really what I was expecting or hoping for. I would’ve been more open to Peter being evil himself rather than being apart of a monster. The shadow being the other half of the monster was a nice touch I have to say, but there was really no explanation behind it. Not a good one at least. Again, it just felt half-assed and like the author went “alright this will be okay” after writing 80% of the book.

Another Peter pan retelling that I really loved and enjoyed. This was an amazing story and I loved how different it was from some other peter pan stories that I have read. wendy is still as amazing as she always is in these kinds of retellings and she was by far my favorite character.
