I liked Never Too Far, but I didn't love it as much as the first book.

I was expecting what happened on the first chapter, and I personally don't like when that happens in a story, but well written and making sense I don't mind it as much, and this was one of those cases.

I felt like there was too much drama this time around. Blaire was even more insecure, something normal given the circumstances, but I think it was a little too much. But I still loved her and the way she cared about everyone.

Rush was another story... I loved him but he couldn't stop messing things up with Blaire. And while I didn't like it too much (or the fact that he was easily forgiven... even though the reasons were understable sometimes) I think it's a huge difference respect other books. It shows how the hero isn't perfect and he messes up unintentionally because he's not used to care for someone romantically or love someone besides his sister.

Also, I fell more in love with Woods. He was perfect in every way. I loved how he took care of Blaire when she needed him to. Bethy was awesome too, a great friend everyone wants to have.

And again, I didn't see the final twist coming. Everything makes much more sense now, and I really liked how everything happened. But I felt like some things were missing, there are a lot of situations that I would have liked to see resolved, so hopefully we get to find out in the last book.

About the sex scenes, they were amazing once again. Rush was sexy as hell and they needed each other so bad, I loved how those moments were described and detailed. The writting made it more intense and that's a bonus. It was great seeing how Blaire changed from her innocence in the first book, for sure Rush enjoyed her crazy hormones.

I can't wait for the final book. And I'm looking forward to read Woods' story. I totally loved his character and I want to see some action from him.

This was a great read. This was better than the first book. I really enjoyed the second part of Rush and Blair's love story. I think this book made the characters grow up a bit more than the first book. Also, I thought the plot was better and well-written. The ending was great. Can't wait to read Book 3 - Forever Too Far. Overall, an enjoyable read.

Well well, I might as well should go and just admit that few of the scenes worth A LOT more than the last half the first book which had no depth whatsoever .
the story evolved frantically between the rich lover boy and the not-so-angelic-but-now-horny-as-hell Alabaman gal .
That had been said . My first chick-lit experience with the first book was a freaking bomb of disgruntlement , I was so disappointed at this girl who has –at first , impressed me with her decisiveness which turns out quite elusive for her as she fellows the rich and oh-so-perfect and so asshole of a person , god that was the epitome of the cheesiness of the human romanticism , how many times can you read about it and not get brutally sick of it ? people ( especially female population) seem to NEVER get bored with ….
I don’t know why I went about and flipped through those pages as I did. I’m just a person who doesn’t like to leave the gaps unfilled . and more importantly as I am usually appalled by some the sheer undermining of women , specially in sexual affairs , reading some very clear gender-appointing literature toward women would made me revolted in no time , but I’d like a challenge , I’m dismayed that those forms of undermining exist still but that doesn’t mean I could not acknowledge their imperfect existence .
Now , what pissed me of .
Rush ! fuckdumpness Rush

Now if you could just stop with the god-awefull possessiveness. self-claiming body parts of his mistress was disgusting , and not at all what our dear esteemed writer had intended to deliver : hot and smothering tempestuous , it was anything but honey . I scowled with frustration as he talked to him self obsessively ,like an asshole maniac “mine , this was mine , she was mine , I take care of what’s mine “ as if the girl was some kind of a piece of meat ,just another finer sight of a pretty dolly he intended when he was pleaded to do so . it honestly reminded me of those poor deceased feminists and how they would rumble with rage into their graves at this masochism monstrosity , honestly . the worst of all ,I couldn’t decide whether the girl was stupid enough , or she wanted to be stupid , and have –at all costs , her dirty little time with a man , who had been with half the town and somehow that doesn’t matter , no . but it sure as shit matters if some “ male” so much as glanced at her or worse , talked to her. God , spare us this ridicule.

So this is what women want : men who proclaim their body as their own ( might as well through out a contract on the table to make the lease official ).well don't matter while he have those fine packs , dang it. *yes I said that with a southern tone*

As for the sweet Blaire , her alleged independency had failed her on many occasions –of course this is a fairy tale where men beg you to accept their help. Maybe it has more or a little ( I’d say a lot ) with the fact that she is easy on the eye , and her sight is more than flattering .

I appreciated the parts where the author had tried to make this story as real and as rich and complex as real life ( before they forget everything in 2 seconds and let their animalistic carnality take over their half-functioning brains ) HUGE BUMMER
it was very daunting to try to keep up the depth of the story while they jumped at each other. Not so prettily .
The scene where they all found out had touched me , and I almost cried cause that was real life , and those were real feelings of hurt that any human can endure , the truthfulness of the latter had comforted me.

4.5 stars. Really great story. My only complaint is that it was too short and could have really been one book instead of 2 short books.

I read "Never Too Far" immediately after finishing "Fallen Too Far" and I was happy that the story picked up very soon after the latter's ending.

With the bombshell revelation (i.e. Nan's secret...which was actually everyone-else's-secret-except-poor-Blaire's) in the first book, Blaire returned to Alabama only to make yet another life-changing discovery.
SpoilerBlaire was very much pregnant with, yes, you guessed it, Rush's baby.
This sequel is basically about how both Blaire and Rush deal with the aftermath of book one as well as events that are thrown at them here.

Rush does a lot of apologizing in this book while Blaire, surprisingly, is far more understanding than a lot of other women in the same situation. There were times I wanted to head smack Rush for some of the inane choices he was making but the real thorn in my side was none other than Nan. Sheesh. Talk about selfish and spoiled. *insert eye roll here*
SpoilerThe dynamic between her and Grant, however... Hmmm... I'm beginning to think the author is laying the groundwork for book four. Not sure how I'll feel about that if I do turn out to be right. Grant seems to be too good for her...and I'm kinda hoping it'll be Grant and Meg instead. Hehe.

Book one had one bombshell. Book two had, yup, two bombshells, one in the beginning and one close to the end.
SpoilerI appreciate that some resolution was reached with regards to Blaire and her father. The thing is, just like with Rush's reasoning in book one, Abe's reasoning in book two was misguided at best.

I enjoyed both books and am looking forward to reading the other books planned in the series. ^.^
