One of THE BEST short stories I have ever read.

It is so well crafted that it fits all the emotions, character building and plot in only 138 pages. Now I am some one who loves her books thick and chunky. I want to be fully immersed in the world, feel and the feels and be wrecked by the end. So I am even more amazed at what this book delivered in such a perfectly petite book.

This story, with a 33 year old ‘spinster’ who felt like her life was over, only to suddenly find herself pursued by a gorgeous 24 year warrior, who has loved and longed for her since she saved his life 16 years ago…it hit me harder than I was expecting.

We don’t often have romances where the female main character is significantly older than the male, and Ruby Dixon makes me long for her to write more! I’m now moving the rest of this series up to the top of my TBR pile!

I enjoyed this! I wish that it was fleshed out more - more interactions between Halla and Mathior getting to know each other and also more detail to the day she saved his life. I really would have loved flashbacks of Mathor over the 16 years pining for Halla.

it's a basic romance book, but everyone's tolerable and i love a weirdo pining for an older woman.
lighthearted fast-paced

What was the point of this? I couldn’t even get through it because there literally was no plot. Not even a loose one.
