Basically exactly what it says on the box, with the bonus that the heroine is eight years older than the hero and the hero has kept himself pure while waiting for her. The characterizations were well-drawn although as usual Dixon doesn't really delve too deeply (and in this one she doesn't have a ton of space to do so).

This is a sweet, steamy romance. It has a pretty simple story, but I like the main characters (especially Mathior) and enjoyed reading about them.

I love when Ruby subverts classic tropes like this!! Halla was very sweet and the age difference was done well.

I read The Half-Orc’s Bride and with this book I felt like it was supremely short? I also felt that there was more conflict in the other book than this one. I still think it was a sweet slight age-gap story. Fyi the “cyclops” is not exactly the monstrous cyclops you imagine from mainstream media.

I enjoyed it more the second time around.

Insta-Love,

HOWEVER,

Chapter Nine !!!

What was the point of this? I couldn’t even get through it because there literally was no plot. Not even a loose one.

I liked the premise of The King's Spinster Bride, and there were some good moments. I do wish that Halla had been less obsessed with/hung up on the age difference between her and Mathior.
