Even though this novella is part of the Aspect and Anchors series, I got Risdaverse vibes for some reason! Very insta-love, younger MMC/older FMC pairing, he’s been pining after the princess who saved his life when he was a child, and now he’s back to claim his bride. Not a lot of plot, all vibes, and a whole lot of steam — just an all-round entertaining read.

Delightful novella in the Rubyverse!
16 years ago, Halla saved the life of a rival king’s son. Her kingdom falls and she’s sent to a nunnery of sorts as payment for her protection of young Mathior. Now, Mathior has returned for her as king, never forgetting the day she saved his life. Not to kill her! To marry her!
Super fun. Halla and Mathior have to go through three trials in order to be truly wed in his culture. Disrobing on front of the whole kingdom? Check. Making sure her betrothed can *ahem* please her in front of witnesses? Double check.
I loved every minute. A surprising amount of worldbuilding for such a short read and it was really well done. I loved the Cylcopae (Mathior’s people) culture! They sacrifice an eye to their main god! Brutal and cool!
Reverse age gap (she’s 32 and he’s 24) is my jam and this delivered!
