this is the most romantic book i’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. rarely do i feel the sheer depth of emotion that this book evoked from me-agony, joy, heartache, and utter longing practically consumed me while i read. i love this book, at the end as at the start, and through all the in-betweens.

A sci fi with poetry elements that’s refreshing and original.
Two enemies that fall in love and yearned for each other. I wasn’t expecting so much from this book.
I really enjoyed it.
I’ve never read a book that made me feel this stupid,,, but also simultaneously made me feel so good? And I feel that pretty much sums up the rollercoaster ride that this book was 🙂↕️
The prose of the book and the amount of insane sci-fi slang and world-building throughout the first 60-70 pages (which actually continues throughout the entire book) gave me an actual headache. I didn’t understand what went on and and eventually had to do a quick search on the book and its plot, just to see if I had read it correctly 🥲
After a little bit of research without spoiling too much, I kept on reading… And now I kinda get it? I think?
The plot and the story was truly beautiful and anyone who says otherwise is just wrong 😚 But the prose and the metaphors and the wording of everything took a toll on my brain 😩 This kind of lyrical prose just wasn’t for me, but that’s just me.
There were a lot of really nice quotes throughout the book, though, and this one especially stuck with me:
“I’ll be all the poets, I’ll kill them all and take each one’s place in turn, and every time love’s in all the strands it will be you.”
