I adore Beau. Very AudHD coded and so relatable. His and Payne’s relationship is heartwarming and silky and such GOALS!
Sweet!
Payne and Beau were a sweet, fumbling mess of nerves, unawareness, and general cuteness as they fell in love. In Beau's case he was already in love with Payne, but it took Payne a bit longer to figure out his feelings for his brother's best friend. I listened to this book in audible and the narrator did an amazing job brining this story to life.

Summary : Payne is back home after a divorce, 40 and totally lost. He tries to crash at his brother's house, but there's just not room for him there, and crashing in his nieces single bed doesn't last long. His brother's best friend offers to put him up... and maybe this friend doesn't mention that he's been in love with Payne basically forever.
It's cute! It's fun. It's sweet and low-angst and just a little bit forgettable. It reads a little bit like fan fiction, mostly in the good way, where it's self indulgent and easy to read, and a liiiiiitle bit in the less good way, where there are some plot lines that didn't really need to be there and an ending that tried so hard to wrap up every single loose end so thoroughly that it just... dragged. But she was a good little book, definitely worth reading.

This was so adorable! I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of Payne and Beau. This is my third read and I still love them as much as I did the first time.
I loved their relationship from the beginning, even before anything happened. Payne was instantly protective of Beau and always offered him reassurance that nothing was wrong with him. Beau was awkward but in a cute way. I loved how he would get lost in his own world when writing, and how after encouragement from Payne, started to have more confidence in himself.
You could feel the tension between the two MCs, and when they finally gave in, it was hot!
The DMC chats always made me laugh. I love this group and will always be back for a revisit!
