“The thing about loving someone is - you don't get to do it with conditions attached.”
Payne has just learned the man he has been with for 12 years, his husband of 5, has been cheating on him for the past 2 years when a coworker sends him the link to his husband's OnlyFans account. Yikes! He quickly leaves that pos, moving back to his hometown, but now has to job and no place to live other than on his niece's bed. Enter his little brother's best friend, who has a spare room he isn't using and who has also had a crush on Payne for years.
This was a quick pallet cleaners read for me. I'm not so attached to the series that I'm planning on burning through the rest of them. But I'll probably go back to it every now and then. The scenes where Beau colors in Payne's tattoos to relax were really sweet. I appreciated that all the "oddities" that Beau was hoping to change about himself were things that Payne liked, and that he was sorta protective over those parts on him.

If I was rating on pure enjoyment I would rate this higher. I legit screamed and it was so cringy that I had to stop and think about my life choices for like an hour.
The story was generic however and the sex scenes made me want to claw my eyes out.
The plot didn't make a whole lot of sense and was very cut corner-y, but whatever it was a fun ride?

- best friend's brother
- opposites
- older (Payne is 40, Beau is 36... which is odd to say because by this logic I, too, am old lol)
In the middle of a divorce with his cheating husband, Payne is not only jobless but homeless, and currently stealing his 6 year old niece's bed. When Beau, his baby brother's best friend offers him his spare room until he can get on his feet again, Payne jumps at the opportunity to live somewhere rent free. What ensues is something neither one ever expected.
This was cute, I'm not gonna lie! Beau's weird ass is probably my favorite character written by Saxon James to date.
