The beautiful descriptions of the forests & the mountains is one thing that comes to mind when I think of A Legacy of Storms & Starlight. Then the bonds & relationships between the characters. There's family, friends & romance! It's a slow burn romance but it also fits well with the characters personality. The book does start a little slow but picks up about midway. Overall it was a pleasant & entertaining read!

I had minimal expectations coming into to this book but really enjoyed it. This story has some of my favorite components for a fantasy story including found family, organized rebels, and a slow burn. The magic world is pretty interesting, between powers and the political structure, and its unique enough that you stay engaged in the story to find out more. The secondary and reoccurring characters offer great dialogue and showcase the main character's many different sides. I appreciated that the FMC cannot be easily labeled or troped and really look forwarded to see her progress given the ending of this first book.

There are quite a few instances where the plot skips ahead really quickly and I actually thought I missed reading a chapter or something. It was a fun read and I'm interested in what happens next, but I don't think I'll seek out the next book. Plot started to feel very CW/TVD towards the end.

I loved every minute of this!

Zylah is a girl with a dark past, haunted with secrets we only scratch the surface of. When she crosses paths with Hoyt, they agree to work together for her safety and sanity. But as the world seems to unravel around them, with romantic interests making their way into her life, Zylah is quickly thrust away from the solitude she once sought.

If I say more, I'm going to spoil it all! I loved it. For fans of ACOTAR for sure.

I really enjoyed how different this story was from what I typically read, even though when you break it down it’s not that different lol
