I listened to this as an audio book and Sean Crisden pushed this to 3 stars for me. I loved his voice.
What else I liked:
Lucky/Tyler and his inexperience
The family history
The pretty undies
What I didn’t like:
The ending didn’t feel happy to me. I don’t believe they’ll last as a couple and that makes me sad.
The beginning was too tense. They argued too much and oddly I hated how much Lucky and Saint kept apologizing to each other. If it was supposed to be enemies to lovers, let’s see more dislike without apologizing.
The grandmas never really being together. That broke my heart.
The best friend. I hated that she was in love with Lucky. Totally not needed and made me so unsatisfied with their relationship.
Also randomly, I hated how Saint just drove across the country with no plan, no address, and seemingly in one day. Then casually worked for weeks remotely. That bothered me.
I wanted to like this more. I think I would have if Lucky had more passions or something he was interested in besides wearing pretty panties. Like if moving to LA was actually something he always wanted to do for some reason… any reason. Or maybe if Saint was more likeable. Or even if Saint found a reason to want small town life. Or hell, if they both decided to live somewhere else all together. Otherwise, this just felt like a fling, not life long luuuurve.
Don’t get me wrong, it was hot… just unnecessarily angsty.

The story was a sweet romance with a dash of spicy and moderate angst. The narrator has a pleasant voice, and his performance was very good. The pacing was a little slow for my taste, but would be great if you are looking for a slow and steady build up to a romance.
Look, nothing is worst than a book that's promising but lakes everything else. This was one of those for me :
No deep
No sense
No communication
I hate when authors do hot and cold bad - one second his telling him he is amazing, the next he is the devil-
They take offense with everything, they always think the other one is attacking them.
I will not give 1 star because I could finish the book and was somewhat into it only to see where that disaster would take them!

I finally listened to the audiobook and had been excited about it because I like the narrator. I did not consider this being the same narrator as Crossroads, one of my most listened to audiobook. It’s the same voices and because I’ve listened to Crossroads so much, it was hard for me to remember who the characters were and the story in this one.
Something About You is a standalone book by Riley Hart, and in my opinion, this is a classic Riley Hart book. I fell in love with this author’s writing when I read Crossroads and years later, nothing has changed for me. Riley writes diverse, imperfect characters and this book is no exception. She surrounds her characters with memorable supporting characters that just further brings a story to life.
Saint and Lucky were a true picture of opposites attract. One man is black and one is white; one man is all about family and one is not; one man is about small town living, the other city living; one man is about taking his time to enjoy the scenery, the other about speeding from adventure to adventure; one man is about one night stands, the other is not. The one thing they do have in common is attraction, though neither man will give in easily.
Lucky was a very likeable character, from the very beginning. He seemed young, naive and with a good heart. He loved spending time with his best friend, his family and his grandmas. He had a good life and though he thinks there’s more out there, he’s content in the life he has built for himself. But, there are aspects of himself that Lucky hasn’t explored and he longs to do so. Saint was not as likeable for me, at first. But, the more the story unfolds, the more you get to see Saint and understand him. Saint’s life has a lot of hidden secrets, some of them so sad. His story is a great reminder that life is short, don’t put something important off for another day because you don’t really know that you’ll be around for that day.
This book made me smile, laugh, sigh and cry. For me, this was truly just a perfect, beautiful read. Lucky, Saint and their story is one that will stay with me and one that I will read again and again. As sweet as this story is, let’s not forget that no one writes a smoking hot story like Riley Hart! Even though I’ve read so many books from her, never has any scene between two MC’s felt or seemed repetitive. Lucky has a lot to learn about himself and Saint is up to the job!
I absolutely loved the cover on this book and everything that followed that cover! The one thing I wished for more of, was Saint and Lucky once they made their decision about their life. But, I’m one of those people who love to read the neat HEA and see future interactions of the couple. Regardless, that doesn’t stop me from loving or recommending this book to everyone!

Pretty cute, if not amazing. Secondary characters that I liked a lot, and a sweet story.

Tbh I really enjoyed what I read of this book but I think it was just a little slow for the mood I was in and I couldn’t really concentrate on it. But the book is really cute and fun, nd I really liked the lil “kink” (lace) involved and as well as the development of the relationship and Lucky’s story about how he came to know he was bi. But I just can concentrate on it anymore so imma leave it hear.

Lucky and Saint are very different from each other but I loved their story so very much.
Lucky had to find Saint for his grandmother. Even though she didn’t ask, I loved that Saint didn’t reply to the email from Lucky he just got a car and came. He was so starved for family that he couldn’t wait. Even though his grandmother and he never knew her, their relationship is sweet and special.
I very much enjoyed Lucky's protectiveness. But the chemistry between these men is undeniable. From two different worlds, can they make it work?
I can’t wait to dive into Book 2.
The narration was perfect for these two. This is where Sean shines because it was effortless listening.

2.5 rounded up
Generally liked the plot and the characters. Particularly enjoyed that one of the MCs of a POC and the mention of actual queer history.
First half was well paced, but then it seemed super rushed and the development of feelings seemed a bit rapid. Ending also felt a little out of left field and a bit incongruous with the first part of the book, could have used some seed planting earlier in the plot, IMO
