I enjoyed catching up with Simon, Dec and the gang, however I found the story a bit drawn out in places and put the book down for awhile and read something else. Still a good story and I'm intrigued by Nyssa's final remark.

-In a Nutshell: After Greg's shit show in the last book, Simon and Declan are strong and happy and in love. But as always troubles strikes our dear protagonists and Simon is ready to kick ass... again.

-MC: Simon (very in love) and Declan (very in love 2.0)

-Plot: Declan is working as a tutor for very talented lgtbq+ teenagers and is in charge of a boy who is very talented but always gets in trouble. On the other hand, Simon is working on what he loves, but his assistant Coby hides a horrible secret (it's not that horrible, but remember that Simon is dramatic). Simon and Declan's life is perfect and they are very in love... surprisingly the problems have nothing to do with them (hahaha) but with their loved ones. Simon has to deal with Coby's secret and Declan has to deal with his protégé

-My Opinion: This book is sooooooooooo beautiful, full of amazing moments about family, love and what it means to be with someone for a long time. Simon and Declan are still the best team ever, always side by side and taking care of each other. Its beautiful.

-MC: Simon (enamorado y fabuloso) y Declan (enamorado y fabuloso 2.0)

This book is great fun for those of us who fell in love with Simon and Declan in the first book, and adored them in the second. In this book, it's eight years since Dec kissed Simon and started them on their path together, and they've built a solid life together. Dec has retired from the intense public crucible of professional sport and moved into broadcasting, and youth sports. Simon is also in televised production, with a new assistant and new problems. And he's still the same charmingly arty wanker - the same funny, literate, melodramatic, silly, loving, accident-prone and good-hearted narrator as ever.

They've done well balancing their lives, but more than one old nemesis is moving into the limelight, and turning attention their way again. On top of that, Micah, a young, out, gay 17-year-old player whom Dec is mentoring, is facing challenges at school and in the media. Micah responds as rationally and calmly as you would expect from an angry and hurt teenager. In other words, not at all.

Dec and Simon have to balance their own lives and career goals, the renewed scrutiny of reporters, lies and half-truths, and the responsibility they feel for Micah.

The most wonderful things about these books are the warm tone and the real, human, flawed but appealing characters the author creates. There is fun and joy and there is pain, there are moments I wanted to smack every single person in here, but their issues feel plausible and I sympathized through it all. The plots are good - interesting but not dramatic, the events workable, pushing the edges for humor, but never going beyond them. And the love between the MCs, and their friends and families, suffused the story with warmth. Warmly recommended for fans of the series.

I grabbie-handed this because I simply love this series, and Declan and Simon. They are truly the prefect couple to me, flaws and all. Obviously, Tigers on the Run is about this couple, and they are already established.

The book starts with Dec and Simon living their lives, with friends in tow, through some fun and sometimes stressful situations. Poor Simon’s best friend, Coby, ends up dating Simon’s nemesis. Dec is dealing with his foundation and a newly out young AFL star who is causing trouble. Altogether this story is fun, emotional, and exciting. Kennedy writes books that make you escape into his characters’ world and feel like you are the other friend at the table arguing and having a good time.

Narration: But Dave Gillies absolutely ruined this story for me. He was awful. His up and down cadence was really weird, and the rhythm didn’t change regardless of what the situation was. Thank goodness I read the story beforehand, otherwise I would have stopped listening to this audiobook. I urge readers to pick up the print/e-book edition of Tigers on the Run and read it because you would be missing the amazing writer that Sean Kennedy is.

I will happily read as many installments in Simon and Declan's life as Sean Kennedy is willing to write. Seriously, I hope he keeps writing until they're well into their dotage. Can't you just imagine Simon as a grumpy old man?

Anyway, this was a worthy installment in their lives, once again focusing on the realistic evolution of their relationship--now 8 years in. I love the way the characters and relationships change and grow in such realistic and mature ways. And color me relieved that the ending seems to indicate a fourth installment at some point!

Last night I finished Sean Kennedy's latest novel, (which I probably should add I started over breakfast). Tigers on the Run.. 5 stars the whole way... This series is in my Top 5 of all the series I read/have read... The writing and the development is amazing in books 1 to 3... It hit's home with my love of in-depth character lives and we see them growing and sometimes even learn a little bit about ourselves as we read..

Can not recommend this book or series enough to people..

Sean Kennedy how can you end this book like that!

But I'm hoping that means we've got a book four of the Simon and Dec story to come along sometime hopefully sooner rather than later.

This was another fab stop on the mad journey through these two utterly loveable men's lives, I could read about them forever because they are so real.

Love them, love the series, love the setting, and want more of it.

*squeees* so much. I could read a thousand and more pages about Simon and his relationship with Dec and their friends.

This book made me laugh out loud quite a few times (my poor neighbours). Simon is just awesome the way he is and Dec's reaction to him? Pure gold. And top of him the reactions of Fran, Roger, Abe, Lisa and Coby to Simon and, yes, Dec? There are no words how much I enjoyed reading about these characters. *hugs them and never lets them go again*

I love that not everything is perfect in the relationship between Simon and Dec. They fight, they are angry with each other, they feel hurt by the other, they react the exactly wrong way than their partner hopes for and so on. But, they also work on their problems. Yes, there is some running from Dec involved and Simon puts his foot into his mouth more than once, but in the end? They talk with each other. They apologize to each other and they want to make it work. ♥

Micah's story comes a bit short. On one hand - yay, more Simon and Dec bickering. But on the other hand - his story is important. Yes, he's quite often a little shit but it's understandable when you put yourself in his shoes. *hugs him*

I also like how Fran is given a chance to voice her feelings re:being treated only as a mother anymore. Thank you for that.

Jasper is not my favourite character and I still don't like him. Enough said.

I really hope that the Overtime chapters hint for another book. I really want to read about Declan, the assistant coach, and want to know what's up with Nyssa. :) *makes grabby hands*

This series has been really consistent quality-wise. I can't say for sure which book I liked the most. Again, the most wonderful thing in this novel is the natural progression of character development for Declan, and most especially, Simon. I appreciate the author shading Jasper's character, too.
