The book was really good and I liked the interaction of the team but some parts were too dense. It's like she spent too much time trying to describe Rose and Kane as a family.

It does make me want my own warehouse to mkae over with all the fun e-toys! Ruthless Game is the ninth in the military, science-fiction GhostWalker series an revolves intimately around Rose and Kane; less intimately around the San Francisco-based GhostWalker team.

Pregnant with Kane's child, Kane helps Rose escape Whitney's lab and Rose promptly goes on the run. A constant run. Everytime Whitney's men get close, Rose takes off until she has to contact her government to rescue two cartel hostages. To Rose's dismay, Kane's GhostWalker team is the unit in charge. And Kane is both ecstatic and terrified to finally find an eight-months pregnant Rose who will not obey his commands intended to keep her safe.

Underground housing with a HUMVEE waiting at the end of an escape tunnel, a mad chase across the desert, death, destruction, and survival with revelations of new Gifts and generational hopes, Ruthless Game is packed full with action, suspense, and betrayal. Yeah, yeah, formulaic, but so much fun to read and always with so much future promise.

Kane - second in command for Mack's team.... oh my - this one is extraordinary and quite different to the others, I find it more tender considering (can't tell you, or i'll spoil it :P).

Definitely one of my fave ghost walkers.

Sigh....I adore these books. I am so sad that there is only one more book. There are some of the men, that I would love to read their story...Javier and Rhianna's story in particular...

I'm glad we finally got to Kane and Rose's story.
We've met rose and Kane in previous book involving the breeding facility.
Kane was assigned there supposedly to protect it as a guard but as soon as he got there he realised what the facility was really about. It's was instant attraction between rose and Kane. When the chance to escape came about Kane helped but as soon as rose had the opportunity to get away she did. Eventually Kane found her and all the months hoping she was pregnant.
I like that the baby was born in this book and did play a bigger part. This is the first book in series where the baby plays and actual role and most of the characters interact with him.
Looking forward to Javier and Rhiannon story.

I was going to hold out for the audiobook . . . but decided I just could not wait that long to find out what happens next for the Ghost Walkers.

I enjoy all of Feehan's series, but I have a special fondness for the Ghost Walkers. There's something special about a warped Mad Scientist, special ops with paranormal powers, and the women programmed to love them.

The action is great, the love story is sweet, and there's a baby. I really hope Feehan's next story arc reveals more about the babies. As far as Whitney goes, there were no new developments or reveals that got dropped at the end. Whitney's still a bad guy, there's still the other faction that's trying to destroy them. I'm ready for the next bombshell to hit them.

I really love Kane & Rose's story. Rose is one heck of a warrior woman. She's a great match for Kane. I'd forgotten that Kane was the one who helped the girls escape in Ken & Mari's story.

I'm really enjoying Team 3 more on this re-read. They're a very intriguing unit.

Kane and Rose

Loved it. The second story involving a member of the third team. And we saw a bit more of the fourth team towards the end. The books just keep getting better and better and making me want to read more.

I listened to this as an unabridged audiobook. The narration was ok, but I might have enjoyed this marginally better had I read it myself. I was captivated by the early GhostWalkers. They were new and the story line was fascinating. I had so many questions. Now, I am completely over it. I did not connect with Kane and Rose or with any of their problems. I was bored by the various tangents in the story – If the main character has fine hairs on his toes that enable him to climb straight up a wall, I might be more interested. I don’t mean to be overly critical, I just wanted so much more from this one. It felt like the romance between Kane and Rose was secondary to the story. There were some good moments, but overall, I was disappointed.

This is the ninth book in the GhostWalker series and focuses again (as with the eighth book) on members of GhostWalker Team Three. In this book, the team is deployed to Mexico to rescue two hostages (relatives of el presidente) from a drug cartel. In the process, the team discovers Rose, one of the women who escaped from Dr. Whitney's breeding program with the help of the GhostWalkers. Kane, one of the team members, has been searching for Rose for months, ever since Dr. Whitney paired them as part of the breeding program. He helped her to escape but then lost touch with her. Rose is eight months pregnant with Kane's child and desperately afraid to trust anyone with the safety of her unborn child....anyone except Kane. Overall, this book is solid. It continues the development of the overall plot arch of the series, with more information on Dr. Whitney and his nefarious experiments. That said, Kane and Rose are both somewhat more flat than characters from previous books, without much character development of either of them beyond their basic characters. They are both strong, likeable members of the team. However, because they were paired (and mated) before the book even starts, the book lacks the "courtship" phase of the relationship. Also, the expressions of both Kane and Rose's feelings for each other is both overly repetitive and overly melodramatic. Finally, Kane's almost slavish devotion to Rose in the wake of the birth of their son and his attraction to her post-birth body borders on a little creepy at times. In my opinion, this is the weakest of the series although I continue to like the overall plot and the cast of characters and will look forward to reading further books in the series.
