The mafia meets Hogwarts. Easy, breezy, enjoyable read.
This was an awful book. I'm a liberal as they come but this a ridiculous amount of pandering. THe characters were awful, hated all of them. The whole trope of, he did something wrong but I won't let him explain even for a second just in case I'm mistaken, is SO BAD. Skimmed basically the whole last half.

3.5 ⭐️ this book had potential but it kind of fell flat towards the end. anna was really interesting in the beginning, but since the book was more focused on leo vs dean it felt like anna got overshadowed as a character outside of the whole love triangle. i did however very much enjoy the setting and the games at kingmakers. overall not bad, could’ve been better.

This is definitely giving Harry Potter/Hogwarts but make it mafia vibes and I am SO here for it!
In this series following the Brutal Birthrights series, the characters are invited to/sent to an academy that only certain mafia families are aware of. This school helps teach specific skills needed to live and survive in the world of the mafia.
There are four categories that the students are split up into which is: the Heirs, Accountants, Enforcers, and Spies.
This first installment in the series is about Ana who is Mikolaj and Nessa's (from Brutal Birthright series) daughter, Leo who is Seb and Yelena's daughter (also from Brutal Birthright), and Dean who is Yelena's nephew.
Leo and Ana have grown up together as "cousins" and are the best of friends. Meanwhile, Dean's father, Yelena's brother has a feud with his sister and they are not on speaking terms so Dean and Leo have not met.. until Kingmakers.
Leo and Dean are very much enemies and things are made even worse when Dean finds interest in Ana.. which is where a love triangle is formed. ;)
I absolutely loved this book and I am so excited to start The Rebel! <3
