Did not make it too far with this book. I found the narrator's voice insipid.
This is kind of a weird story. I listened to this one because I really liked I Have Some Questions For You by this author. I feel like the author has grown a lot since this novel and I enjoyed the newer book much more. Also Julia Whelan read I Have Some Questions For You and so this audiobook reader was disappointing by comparison.

I’ve loved other Rebecca Makkai books so I was excited for this one, but unfortunately was disappointed.

I loved this book. At about 60% I was beginning to think how unbelievably silly it was… I’m so glad I finished it. My first book by this author. I loved her writing style.
