I guess I can say I offically listened to my 1st Stephen King audiobook. ( im reading one of his books now that was supposed to be considered my 1st book by him)
But I highlt enjoyed this one though. I had so many different ideas of how this would go or even end. An trust me, none of them ever arised! i listened to this as an audiobook so I loved the readers voice, she did an amazing job.
I would definetely read this again; I was yelling at my computer a bit. Tell them wife that couldn't hear me, "Stop being nosy! Go back up stairs! You saw nothing! Don't do it!" lol.

This was my first Stephen King read, and I enjoyed it even though it was a short one. I’m excited to read some more of his books for sure now.

I love that this book wrapped up really well even though it was short; I didn’t feel like the plot was rushed. I appreciated how conflicted the narrater was; her reaction seemed really realistic to me. I also liked that you didn’t have to wait for the end to know the twist — it happens shortly into the book. All around, great read.

2.5.

Started out really strong, good opening and hook. Went downhill quick, full stephen king style. Ended fine I guess, I dunno. Totally serviceable but nothing more. Wish it had all gone as the opening had.
It did feel very old fashioned for when it took place, but that's just king at this point I think.

One weird annoyance:
Spoiler this guy murdered a dozen women, brutally. Like tortured them, raped them, bit them apparently down to the bone, which uh, don't think is something a human person can do but ok. He killed one boy, who witnessed a murder and THAT"S the one they always call back to. It's like everyone can kinda accept that he was an incel and hated women and had to torture them to continue to go to work and not shoot up the mall, but we gotta draw the line at murdering a boy. Like the wife only really got upset when thinking about the kid, and the detective used the kid as leverage, because just literally raping and torturing a bunch of women is common place and not something you'd turn against your husband for, you know as long as you think he isn't gonna murder you specifically, those other women are not important. I dunno, just felt really weird how easily everyone could accept the woman torture murders, but not the kill a kid who was a witness. They both seem pretty bad to me.

An entertaining, if predictable, novella.

I was pretty impressed with this story. I listened to the audio book which was only a few hours long. I’ve tried to get into Stephen Kings longer books but I can never stick with it, I figure reading some of his shorter stories first will help me get used to his writing.

A woman inadvertently discovers that her husband of 27 years isn't who she thought.

A Good Marriage is a good novella. I think that the perspective of Darcy is well done and interesting. This book has a few gruesome details, but there aren't a lot.

I loved this novella. It is suspenseful and not gory. It was a quick read and makes you think what you would do if you were in Darcy's shoes.
