DID NOT FINISH: 25%

I would’ve loved this if I were 13. However I think the window of time where I should’ve read this has definitely passed for me and now I just think it’s corny and has bad writing. I miss being 13.

NEVER PICK UP THE PEN AGAIN
This is without a doubt the worst book I have EVER read. Subjecting myself to 251 pages of this garbage was possibly the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I saw another review here that explained that the book is self published which makes so much sense because throughout the entire story I couldn’t believe someone read and agreed to put this on the shelves. It’s hard to decide whether the characters talking about raping each other 20 pages in, the constant cartoonish over the top violence, Andrew’s crazy pills, or the general lack of understanding of how to write a book was the most stupid and frustrating part of the read, but the fact that all of the above were present is telling. Will obviously not be continuing this series. The only scene that didn’t cause me physical pain to push through was when
Riko showed up in the interview
. Of all the shocking twists and turns, that was the one that was actually compelling. As a whole, I think Ms. Sakavic has done a wonderful job at showing us what not to do when writing a book.
P.S. I never understood why english teachers were so insistent on using words other than “said” to denote when a character speaks. I understand it now.

genuinely one of the most wild rides of a book i’ve ever had

This book is written like the best possible fanfiction you can find on wattpad. Mid-tier on AO3.
Still gonna finish the series though. You’d have to drag me kicking and screaming to stop me reading about these stupid fucking idiots ever again.
