I very very personally wish this wasn't a romance novel and was allowed to stand on it's own? But I recognize that is likely a me thing.

Such a fun book that hooked me with the smell of freshly brewed coffee in my mind.

I loved this soooo much. It's so cozy and the characters so lovable. I would die for Thimble. There's a cuddly, protective direcat. It's subtly sapphic. I need more!

cute and frothy in a pleasing sort of way. I don't know what sort of wiring I possess to so thoroughly enjoy reading Building Compilations as a narrative but it really works for me in this story; perhaps Baldree just has a knack for tapping into the satisfaction of creating something out of the ruins of what it was before - it's a trait that he imbues into the workers of Legends and Lattes too.

I have qualms though. viv's arc didn't really seem to move? it just got reiterated a lot. the rest of the cast slot into their respective allyship with her very easily. too easily... I wish more had been made of their dynamics with each other and as a group, because I loved them all a lot (Thimble the most, of course)

"She was smiling, and for the first time, the building, the city, this place... felt like hers. A place she'd still be tomorrow, the week after, next season, next year... home."

A perfectly charming little cozy fantasy!

Legends and Lattes isn't a particularly thrilling read - but I wasn't expecting it to be. Rather, it's a lovely little low-stakes adventure that was exactly what I needed to ease my way into the year.

Big D&D sidequest vibes with a charming array of vibrant characters and LGBTQ+ representation. Not to be dramatic or anything, but I would die for Thimble.

I'll definitely check out the prequel at some point, probably saving it was a rainy day when I need a cozy pick-me-up!
