“Love isn’t meant to be hidden away and life is too short for shame.”
I’ll be totally honest, this was initially a guilty pleasure read and I didn’t give it much of a thought or much of a chance. However, the writing was decent, the story was engaging, and there were some definite moments where my heart was racing as the characters were getting ready to do some really stupid things. So a solid 3 star read.
And then the ending… and the tears… dammit all to hell…
Now I’m gonna have to read the other 14 or so books in the series. Sigh… lol

Beautiful story about a boy working his way through young adulthood while struggling to find love in a world that doesn't always look kindly on his homosexuality.

So I really enjoyed parts of this book, but most of it seemed to drag on endlessly. Jace was amazing, and I have to say that I don't believe the that came out of left field. It was just too convenient an excuse for . I didn't like Tim for most of the book, but I also didn't like Ben. I know he's a teenager, but he seriously had no idea that a lot of parents aren't as cool about their kid being gay as his parents?! He was far too pushy, and it annoyed me. When he told Tim's parents, I just thought why would you tell them, you idiot? What did you expect would happen?! He was too idealistic, and it frustrated me to no end. And poor, poor Jace... he was the best guy ever, so understanding and loving. *SIGH* I cried, so it did get me to feel something, and I did run off to read Something Like Winter because I HAD to hear Tim's side of things, but I had pretty much the same thoughts about that book.

Jace is the only good thing of this book. I want someone to love me the way he loves Ben.

Just finished reading this and it may have broken my cold, desiccated, worn out excuse for a heart. It was just such a lovely story. I'm glad I didn't read any reviews or spoilers, my only complaint is that I didn't want it to end!
