I really wanted to give this book 4 stars, but I couldn’t. I did really like the storyline, but I felt like there could’ve been more.
There were inconsistencies in the characters’ personalities, especially Brielle and Zephyrous. Some moments in the book were uncomfortable to read, but overall, I understood what the author was getting at.
I did like Harper’s redemption, and I thought the ending was strong and the Epilogue was cute. I will continue reading this series. I did hear that the first book was a lot better, so I’m going to plan to read that one next.

Do you love frustratingly infuriating female characters? Then this is for you.
It took me a little to get into this one, I struggled to be pulled in by the characters, a particular side character I loved to hate and Brielle the FMC I spent most of it wishing she would grow a back bone and stand up for herself. Don't get me wrong the character growth of the female characters was superb but the author definitely makes you work for it. Due to this I did find myself being pulled away I wasn't as immersed as I would have liked and for a short moment I honestly though I was going to chuck the book at the wall due to the ending. I'm glad to report without spoilers I did not chuck the book. And I got a satisfying ending 🤣

As with the first book in this series, it was a slow start and took me a while to get into it. The first half of the book was a bit slow for me. I felt like I wanted more of Zephyrus in this book.
I also really didn’t like Brielle or Harper for the first quarter or so of the book.
I did not fully feel where the romance between Zephyrus and Brielle came from but ultimately liked the way things ended up with them.

the beginning was very arduous.
reading about such extremely pious people that they won’t accept any other gods exist to others could be my least favorite trope despite how realistic how it is
