THIS BOOK WAS SO CUTE. I LOVED IT. I loved EVERY second of it. I gobbled the chapters up. The characters were so well written, the storyline was THERE. I lovedddd how we got to follow Bree, Ashley, and Mikki in their love life but also their personal life and see all the growth!!! I LOVE THE CHARACTER development that everyone went through. They all had each other & there was some tough love at times but it was amazing. Life lessons were SO present in this book & honestly i loved it. We got to see Mikki navigate dating again after her divorce, Ashley learn her self worth & that settling and changing a core belief of yours should never be a thing, and Bree just have the BIGGEST change of all. Therapy talk is in this book & i loveeee therapy so much so I’m so glad she actually went to work on all her issues. The setting was so cute, the 3 shops in one & that’s how they all became friends?? I loved. The champagne every Friday?? So cute. These girls were inspiring & i was left at the end wanting MORE. Like i just can’t get enough of this book or this author now.

I am very confused. This was so boring. DNF.

This was a decent story, not my favorite ever but not nearly the worst. This is a perfect summer beach read. It follows the formula of two people who are interested but hesitant, and we all know where it goes from there. I really enjoy this author and this title continues their streak of extremely enjoyable books.

1) Everyone ended up with who they should have been with.
2) Perry needs to move on, he clearly hasn't based on the last chapter.
3) Why is Seth so against marriage? I'm curious to know what his trauma is that has him anti-marriage.

I read about this book on a magazine like Real Simple as a great beach read for vacation. I had never read anything by the author and I found it a nice quick read with little to know substance besides you don’t always know what you want until it’s gone.

Put on that sunscreen and plop yourself in the sunshine to read one of the best books you will read this summer. Susan Mallery creates characters and storylines that pull you in better than any other author out there. I wish it could have been another 300 pages I was so engrossed in this story of friendship, romance and sisterhood. Well done Susan!!

three women share a business location and become unlikely friends. Each is struggling to find their true self and figure out their love life. A story of friendship

This was a good beach read book.

You know those books that might not be the greatest story or epic fantasy, but it was just what you needed to read for a situation you are going through? This book was that for me, the three protagonists somehow added wisdom to my life's problems. It was an easy story with a lot of emotion. For a moment I thought it would be predictable and some of it was but wasn’t and it felt real to me. The characters were flawed and realistic and I sympathized with each of the women. The beginning felt a little slow with a lot of background or details that weren’t necessary but once it picked up, I connected more with the main characters. They will stay with me forever.

The Boardwalk Bookshop by Susan Mallery
Narrated by Tanya Eby

I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK and I am leaving this review voluntarily

When fate brings three strangers to a charming space for lease on the California coast, the Boardwalk Bookshop is born. Part bookstore, part gift shop, part bakery, it's a dream come true for Bree, Mikki and Ashley. But while their business is thriving, their personal lives are…not.

Bree, wounded by brilliant but cold parents and her late husband's ultimate betrayal, has sworn to protect her heart at all costs. Even from Ashley's brother, a writer and adventurer who has inspired millions. He's the first man to see past Bree's barricades to her true self, which terrifies her. Mikki has this divorce thing all figured out—somehow, she's stayed friends with her ex and her in-laws…until a new man changes how everyone looks at her, and how she sees herself. Meanwhile, Ashley discovers that the love of her life never intends to marry. Can she live without being a wife if it means she can have everything else she's ever wanted?

I am drawn to any book that has the word bookshop in the title. This is about the friendship and romantic relationships of the three women that lease the Boardwalk Bookshop. I am a fan of Susan Mallery but this book was a little disappointing. It was okay but it just didn't manage to hold my attention - which is a shame as the plot had such great potential.
