I found this book tedious, cliche, and trite. The characters were underdeveloped, common, and foolish. Not one character had a redeeming quality and their “problems” felt forced and overly dramatic. I hated this book. Hated.

It's been a while since I've read Susan Mallery. This one just wasn't what I wanted.

It's the standard "three women friends have issues, first don't talk about them then do talk about them, everything works out okay" formula that you'd expect. I just didn't care about any of the women. One wonders if she's too boring. I think that she was. The second one opens her mouth for the first time in the book to tell the third one that she'd better not date the second one's brother because she's his type and she'll break his heart. What. Didn't care much for her after that.

The third one is mysterious. She's Been Hurt Before and won't ever commit again. Sure she won't.

And those were the stories that were going to play out, and I didn't want to know more about any of them.

First book I’ve read by this author. I found the character mildly annoying. They all needed therapy/some professional, objective perspectives at some point. Language is crass which I don’t mind but some might. I found some of it to also be outdated; recurring self-talk of women skipping foods they love because it will go straight to their thighs— this just continues to perpetuate unhealthy diet culture thoughts.(Yes I know many of still have these thoughts but I would be nice to have some role models that express more healthy views of our bodies). Somewhat predictable ending. Found it hard to get through after awhile. Easy beach read, and I did appreciate the friendship among the women.

Not strong characters in this book. Sigh.

Three very different women have become friends after deciding to rent a retail space together and each run their own business in said space. We meet them a year or so after they first met. We get to follow each of them through their messy love lives as they support each other.
