when frequently praised poetry doesn’t resonate with me, i always concede that it’s probably a Me Problem. usually i don’t feel like i understand the creative choices… but my god did Amazon History of a Former Nail Salon Worker absolutely destroy me

künstlerroman will stay with me for a while, as other ocean vuong poems have. and reading this actually made me go reread someday i'll love ocean vuong which remains one of THE poems ever for me. i hope he does love ocean vuong now or will someday, but i sure do and always have.
