I loved the first book but this one seems to drag on and not really go anywhere. Although it is full of action and it was good to step in this world again for a while.

Hmmmm, this was a lot. And not in a good way. Very confusing and disappointing character arcs. A very repetitive story that doesn’t really go anywhere, an unconvincing villain etc but of course I’ll read my arc of the next book in the hopes that this story can still redeem itself.

Overall this was a very tense and exciting 2nd installment to the series, I again loved the magic system and how the new aspects were incorporated. I cried at some points and l I enjoyed the new characters that we got to meet, I did however find the interactions between the main characters infuriating. There was so much miscommunication and overly emotional thinking that I felt annoyed and frustrated for the majority of the book. This is YA but the actions I found so childish and stubborn and some of the relationships didn't make sense to me. I will be reading the next book as I definitely need to know what happens next.
