The first half was really bad but it did pick up. But the last half didn't make up for it.

I entered this book thinking that it would be like every other dark romance; it is like those books in some aspects, but the relationship between the MMCs is one that is unique and somewhat "sweet". I mean, sweat in a really messed up way.... I like how the relationship grew into something deeper. there was instant attraction, but the other stuff was slow and gradual; it was nice to see the buildup. I liked how there was a trust between the MMCs even though the 3rd act breakup kinda destroyed it a bit. But I feel like with 2 morally grey characters that were part of the story, and I liked how even with the doubts, they chose to be vulnerable with each other. I absolutely hated Aria and Trent so kudos to Emily McIntire for getting that across in the writing. The banter was great, the spice was great, the character development was insane and the story alluded to the little mermain in unique ways that were amazing to read! Overall a great read!
