3.5* you know.. I forgot how fucking crazy these characters are in dark romances. It's been so long since I've read one, and sadly, I have to admit that they don't quite do it for me anymore. Did I eat up this 500 page book up in 4 days? Absolutely. Am I still going to read the last book in this series that I haven't read yet? Yes. Because one thing for certain, McIntire can keep a bitch reading. I got lost in the book so fast and easily. I just kept flipping the pages without really being aware. She is able to capture your attention right away and keep it. While I did find the story entertaining, I thought the progression with the characters was very fast. I felt like there could've been even more tension, but shit kick started kinda fast, especially since this was supposedly a slow burn. I also felt like Enzo could've had more personality to him. Other than that, I thought it was fun to catch all the Little Mermaid references.

Hexed is a twisted little mermaid retelling. Venesa (Ursa) was never good enough for her parents or her gangster uncle. When her cousin brings home Enzo, who becomes the only man who gets her, she can’t have him. The plot of Hexed was perfect, the author twisted the tail into a dark and murky ending to the classic princess, giving Ursa the ending she deserved!
