I like Yellowfang, but there aren't many cats in this book who stand out to me, except for Cloudpelt. Maybe it's because ShadowClan is given such a bad reputation in the main series and this story explains the worst of it, but I didn't feel as much of an investment in the Clan as a whole. There were also a couple of continuity errors that irked me as I was reading. The first one I noticed alters the backstory of Mudfur, a character whose story (as portrayed in "Crookedstar's Promise") I love. However, this book rewrites it so he becomes a medicine cat apprentice at a younger age (referred to as "Mudpaw") and is given a generic personality that doesn't do his character justice. The second continuity error that bothered me was a contradiction within two chapters, where Stonetooth was in StarClan one moment then dying in ShadowClan during the very next chapter. Overall, I feel like this special edition didn't add anything to my opinions on the series. Yellowfang is still great, but I have no new emotions that the first series with Firestar didn't teach me.

I love Yellowfang but the constant mention of 'female cats MUST have kits' (Everyone to YF and Lizzardstripe, even if she didnt want them) irked me off!! How annoying!
The story is also slow paced until the last 5 chapters where everything is rushed and suddenly 100 cats die.

I loved this book! I personally thought this book had more depth, emotion, and truthfulness than all the other Warrior books put together. It made me really sentimental at some parts, and I really connected with Yellowfang. Also, this answered several questions I had about the series. I didn't know so many things,and I won't tell you what they are, because I don't wanna spoil it for you!

I ♥ you, Yellowfang! I thought you were a crabby old cat, but now I know the truth! You people out there absolutely HAVE to read this book! Simply amazing! I truly didn't know that Yellowfang had this power of sensing when cats are hurt. Okay, that was totally a spoiler... DEAL WITH IT! Now, are you curious?? PLEASE say yes! Yellowfang REALLY wants you to read this book!

Absolutely emotionally devastating. I knew this book would be sad, but I was not prepared for just how sad. The heartbreak in the narrator’s voice in the audiobook version was just the cherry on top. I will never recover.

This book was very good. It was definitely sad and also showed Yellowfang going through not being able to be Brokenstars mother. Recommend to any Warriors fan!

This one was so emotional and amazing. I even prefer it over Bluestar's Prophecy. I felt like the pacing was a lot better, and I felt like this books side characters were a lot more interesting and fun. Learning about Yellowfang and Brokenstar's backstories is absolutely heartbreaking. I also love Raggedstar, he's flawed as hell but he manages to stay really really likable to me because his own story is so sad too. It doesn't excuse his actions, but you understand his anger over Yellowfang's choices, even though he could try harder to understand them. I also found the first Warriors character I genuinely dislike, that being Foxheart. She's such a prick but her scenes are so fun to read, she has no right to be as mean as she is! I also love Russetfur, she's my baby.
