I just kept waiting for her to smarten up. What a disappointment! How can someone so clueless actually be in the CIA? And how does the CIA not even vet the husband of an analyst with access to classified information? What a neat little bow to tie up the end...not. Seriously?

After reading The New Neighbor I had high hopes for this book. It was so ridiculous and the protagonist was so dumb, that it wasn’t even entertaining. The epilogue was tacked on like the author knew that something else had to happen. Skip it.

4.5*.

This was a fast paced page-turning thriller . I really liked it. The protagonist felt a little dumb( to be honest ) thinking she could so easily make the problem go away so quickly but then she seemed to wise-up.

Good thriller! For this particular flavour~ of spy thriller involving Russian sleeper cells in the US, nothing will top the show "The Americans" in complexity and appeal, but for a contemporary version this was fun. Cleveland did a great job ramping up and maintaining tension, asking the tough question of what you would do when you find out that so much of your life has been a lie...

Of course, just when I thought this book would go for the perfect happy ending, there was the Epilogue! Definitely setting this book up to have a sequel, & I will definitely read it.

Fast paced and energetic, I can't believe that this is a debut novel. An incredible twister of a story about a CIA analyst who discovers that her husband isn't who she thought. So many questions and decisions, should she chose her family or her country - and what a shocking ending.
The film rights have already been sold and I'm curious to see the casting - read the book first!!
