Loved [b:Uzumaki|17837762|Uzumaki|Junji Ito|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1476677569l/17837762._SX50_.jpg|78186726] and wanted to read another work by Ito for October. My brother recommended this one. My takeaway is, basically: does Ito ever miss? Of course some of these stories were more suited to my tastes than others, but it's a super strong collection front to back. My favourites were "Library Vision" and "Earthbound."

I love Ito's brand of horror. I love how he doesn't over-explain any of his worldbuilding, and I love how his stories are so easy to suspend your disbelief with and enjoy. Some of the stories in this collection deal with heavy things like sexual assault and eating disorders, but never in a way that felt exploitative, like a lot of other horror.

I think I'm going to read [b:Shiver: Selected Stories|34852851|Shiver Selected Stories|Junji Ito|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1505139005l/34852851._SX50_.jpg|60101714] soon, because I kind of can't get enough of Ito's horror.

This wasn’t my favourite Juno Ito collection.

It had really great concepts but I don’t feel they were fully fleshed out to have as much of an impact as I wanted them too.

Still love the art style though!

3/5 stars!

A wonderful collection from Junji Ito. As always with anthologies there are the good and the bad but even those "bad" stories were a scary good time. I finally got to meet some classic characters I have seen around. And I also got to see Miss Fuchi again who I absolutely love and wish we could see more of. Some of my favorite stories are Earthbound, Mystery of Haunted House, and I Don't Want to be a Ghost.

this was cool! it wasn't super scary and some of the stories fell a little flat for me because of that, but the stories were generally super enjoyable! my favorites were earthbound, death row doorbell, roar, and the mystery of the haunted house.

however, the panels were super cool! the drawings were so detailed and intricate that it definitely made them more scary. would 100% recommend for people who like horror but don't want super duper scary or are just starting out.

4 stars!
This human being can write and draw som bloody(literally) scary stuff! I loved this! Every story really sad one kind of fear inside of you! And I'm differently scared of dreams now! The graphics are amazing, so detailed and so complex. It really made the plot so much scarier! I would 100% read more of his stuff, and I would 100% recommend this to anyone who loves or enjoy horror!
