Sometimes a book just comes along at the right time and hits the right spot. Probably not a five star for everyone but it definitely is for the person I am right now. Always loved Nesta and Cassian anyway.

I know this is a lot of people’s favorite of the series but I had such a hard time getting through it. The middle was so slowwwww. With all the others, I felt compelled to read them, basically couldn’t put them down, but this one didn’t do that for me until the last 200-ish pages. I do love the character arc for Nesta but I knew what was revealed about her LONG before they actually said it. I love the badass woman trope in here and the ability for women to take back their lives and ensure they’d never be hurt again. I can’t fathom that this is really the last book though. There’s so much left undone. Elian’s whole life hasn’t been sorted plus there’s potential war on the horizon. I guess you could write these books forever and keep winding around the violence of the different courts until they all no longer existed or until real peace was attained but is that even a real thing?

This was definitely different from the first 4 books however it was lovely to read and see the character growth. It definitely had moments that had me on the edge or my seat and my heart in my mouth
