A great ending even though it was sad. I wish Rylee's tracking ability would've come on at the end though.
Tempted to leave a one star review as revenge for how much this book made me sob like a baby in the last chapter. This entire series has been full of death but the last loss destroyed me. I can’t believe it’s finally over
This is the final book in the series. It left me broken, devastated, destroyed and crying SO many tears!
I've said a lot about this series in the last few weeks, not all of it great, but I have to admit that the tagline stating an epic conclusion did not disappoint. I mean, WOW. Non-stop action almost all the way through. It was nuts, and also awesome. Lark was a great new character and a lot of the book was spent hinting at her upcoming series. I think there were too many POV's going on (5, perhaps 6 if you want to be technical), but I guess it made sense since there was a literal war in the end. Speaking of the end, WTF?! I mean, I knew going in that there would be a high body count and there damn sure was, but I wasn't happy with who was chosen. I get the message going across, I really do, but I honestly don't know if I would read more from this author. That being said, I wasn't entirely dissatisfied. I got the ending I wanted (mostly), and the last line was perfect. This was an experience to say the least!
The conclusion of this series has been long awaited. So much has been leading up to this pivotal point. The fight with Orion. The countless prophecies to be fulfilled. All of the books have led to this point and I was slightly...... underwhelmed with it. I found myself thinking throughout the series, how is this going to go down? Is all this hype going to live up to its potential, and finally, will it feel right? Well, it didn't. The battle read like any other book in the series, using about half the book to do other things before jamming everything into less than a hundred pages. I wanted action, I wanted fighting, I wanted real emotion from the battle. But all we got was the same glossing over of things, telling and not showing us what was happening in the battle.
Going forth I will be talking about spoilery stuff so be warned.
Okay, firstly, the whole, Faris, Liam, Rylee love triangle thing was not doing it for me. THe whole series we have heard both Rylee and Liam talking about how they are the only ones for each other, that no one could ever compare to them and that they could never love another. Well, bring along Faris and his cocky self and suddenly with Liam in his body he becomes attractive enough for Rylee to fall in love with. WHAT?!?!? Seriously, I would have preferred not having Liam in the rest of the series to this. It seriously ruined their love story for me a little and I didn't like it.
Secondly, the actual battle was short for all the hype it lived up to. I was expecting a long battle, something with more emotion but that was all saved for when Rylee sacrifices herself. Sure, it was a brave thing to do and sure she was awesome for doing it but i felt somewhat detached from the whole thing.
Thirdly, Rylee becoming a daywalker was not expected, sure it made sense for her to live but I didn't like it.
Fourth, the fact that her and Liam just take on three ogre babies while also having two already just felt a bit unrealistic to me. But you know, whatever floats your boat.
Now, this next one is a sore topic for me. Alex dying was unnecessary and totally made me cry but I see why it was done.
I loved Rylee getting to meet her mom and dad and getting a few minutes with them. It made everything worth while.
All in all, the series has come to an end and I know there is a mini series with the four main characters to conclude it all but for now I'm happy with ending it here. I feel like I need a break from this series to really appreciate any more of it.

Struggled to finish, far from the best of the series. Very disappointed in the ending.
What a great conclusion. So many feels. I'm glad it's finally over, yet sad that I won't see these characters anymore. Alex is one of my favourites, so...there's that.
Bittersweet ending.
As with all the Shannon Mayer books I have read this was an easy, action-packed, fast-paced read. Most of the chapters are relatively short and from multiple characters POVs, which I really enjoyed and think enhanced the storyline of this book.
The characters are well developed and I adore many of the side characters, some more than the main FMC. There is a lot of loss in this book even more I feel than there has already been in this series so be prepared. The storyline flowed well and the multiple POVs was done well. Although the ending was bittersweet I feel it was a good one and despite this being the end of this series it seems Rylee and the others are likely to continue to appear in the spin-offs.
I am assuming if you are reading reviews for this book you have likely read the others in the series, however if not and you are trying to decide whether to pick up this series I think you will like it if you like; a vast supernatural world including werewolves, elementals, witches, vampires and much more, action-packed, end of the world storyline, kick-arse FMC and great banter with well done humorous moments
