Fun and heartwarming

It was entertaining, but very forgettable.

IDK, this book is probably fine, I just got annoyed while trying to read it. Oops. Sorry, Patrick.

Mikey (main character) better stop talking to me, we are not the same. I just wanted him to shut up and continue to plot, he just constantly kept asking me stupid questions.

patrick ness is one of those rare YA authors who remembers accurately what it's like to be a teenager and go through secondary school. and i eat it up every time

i last read this a few years ago and i'm surprised by how similar it is to we are the ants by shaun david hutchinson, which is an all-time favourite, so it gets extra points for that comparison

Just. Ahhhh so good! Patrick Ness always writes such wonderful books, and this is no exception. I love the contrast between the "true heroes" (aka the Indie Kids) and the "average people" (aka the Rest of Us). Absolutely fantastic!!

Interesting concept. I figured that I wasn't the target demographic for this. It's hard for me to get into books that involve/concern high school.

I did like how this book handled mental illnesses. I loved Jared as a character, and I honestly would have loved more detail about him.

Otherwise, I guess I just wanted more out of it. More about the "indie" kids. Probably my fault there.

A cute coming-of-age story of a completely normal kid growing up in a town full of superheroes. He just wants to go to prom, and get together with his best friend before he goes to college and she heads to Africa on a mission trip, but life (and the superheroes) just keep getting in the way.

Trigger warnings to consider: eating disorders (anorexia specifically), OCD, alcohol abuse.
