Grumpy/sunshine duo

This is a new genre of story I didn't know I wanted. I loved seeing an old dragon and the retirement home setting for dragons. Feral and Morsel were such a cute duo and this was such a cozy story that really makes me want some applesauce.

A slice of fantasy life.

The Little Morsel reminds me of a fantasy version of UP, and I'm all for it.

Feral, the retired dragon, and Morsel, inquisitive little girl, strike up an unlikely friendship in this heart-warming, wrenching, and ultimately feel-good story from two authors with talent and skill.

What happens when a little girl shows up on the doorstep of a crotchety old dragon? They make applesauce. Obviously.

This story had heart, and it had depth. And it was so so so much fun. I love reading stories that catch me by surprise and there were so many surprises! Also, I learned so many things I never thought I need to know, such as the dragon equivalent of Meals on Wheels and what happens at a dragon senior center. It's not so different than what happens at human senior centers, other than the differences, of course.

I edited this book for an IFA anthology [b:From the Ashes: Legends Never Die|59123601|From the Ashes Legends Never Die|Rachel Rener|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1634093418l/59123601._SY75_.jpg|93379188], which is also worth reading, and I recommend this story to absolutely everyone!

This was absolutely adorable! And hilarious. I loved Feral's voice (he reminded me very much of my father-in-law - grumpy with a heart of gold).
Feral, an ancient dragon general takes in a human child. It was just completely lovely.
