It was really good. I suspected a LOT of people from Anh, Jeremy, and a bunch of other people in between to Anh's brother. But I didn't get the real culprit! It was written really great and engaging for me. I was excited to know what will happen next. The thrill was definitely there. Add in the hotshot Reece (like the chocolate lol).
Definitely a good read. Onto the next one! :)

I so so wish I’d read this around the same time I read The Naturals. I would have eaten this shit right up. My complaints are the same as they always are in YA fiction: loose threads were left loose. In this case, is there an explanation for Nearly’s emotion-taste abilities? Also, why was that even necessary? Her ability to read emotions was completely unnecessary to the plot, and added just about nothing to it other than a “chosen one” type reason for Nearly to be the MC. Also, I have to say, the villain was an interesting choice. I guess I think the author gives the villain a little too much credit. With that out of the way, I think this was unexpectedly well done. It was well-plotted and the mystery was believable, exciting, hard to predict, but fun to try to predict. I also thought Nearly and Reece’s relationship was perfectly paced for a YA novel, none of the love at first sight crap I usually have to endure. Of course, some aspects of it were a little why-inspiring (Reece’s devotion to Nearly makes sense later on in the novel, but it was fairly intense from the beginning). It’s just that I don’t mind some pining from the male lead. On the other hand, I HATE when the female lead goes mushy gushy at the sight of chiseled abs and flowing hair.
I digress. This was good fine great. I’m not the intended audience (this did not blow my mind, but it would have if I was fourteen years old), but it definitely did its job (I enjoyed it a lot, I read it in a day, and I was sufficiently entertained).

Moderate: Drug abuse, Gun violence, Murder
Not what I expected
I didn’t like how broken up each of the chapters were. The story was great. I’m definitely looking forward to reading the next book

"Nearly "Leigh" Broswell checks the newspaper personal ads every week searching for some sign of her runaway father. Eventually, she starts noticing mysterious messages that seem aimed right at her. When she tries to figure out the clues, they follow her through a string of deaths of people who have one thing in common...her. Suddenly, she is being framed for murder, and she has no clue who's behind it. The only clear thing is that whoever it is wants her gone and punished." I liked the premise a lot but the book quickly veered off into weird, unrealistic territory... I think the whole "feeling emotions" gimmick was too much. And for being a genius, the main character didn't seem to catch obvious clues and put things together too easily. Despite that, the mystery kept me reading until the end but by then I didn't really care who the murderer was. Once the veneer of reality was gone (so basically around the time you hear about her being able to feel emotions), the story just kind of went downhill.
Wouldn't recommend, but it was kind of an interesting read.
Nearly, the narrator of this book, is insufferable. She’s supposedly smart but acts really stupid. She makes the worst decisions. She’s supposedly psychic as well. It was written in the book jacket and briefly mentioned at the beginning. Then it seemed like the author forgot about this plot point. It was a brutal book to finish.

Wow, I enjoyed this book so much, it was so entertaining, I can totally see why Bones and Fringe was mentioned in connection to this book! I can't wait for Nearly Found, it's going to be so good!
