Relistening; real word, after two days!
Geezer reader is a well bad geezer.
Tyrel caught me close to rem so thought, oh I blade runner.
Must admit HHGTTG wore very thin early on.
Not opening the doors 2001?
Not as sad as people think I am, so not really a nudge nudge see the link merchant.
More of a merchant banker me!
There was another one, but alas in my dotage.
All the above and listening again, it is such fun.
KHS is very good and enhances the whole experience.
PS Slights to the Buffon's et al that have screwed and broken up the UK good to see included. Alas I fear the deluded cannot see anything wrong with a lardy chancer killing 65K citizens, poncing a month holiday in Caribbean and spunking 10M of a self aggrandising RAF plane. Complete arse in charge, hands across the pond between an idiot and an older idiot.

Peter Grant is such a great character but his memory is far better than mine! I could really do with Pratchet book style notes reminding me just who everyone is for easy reference everytime they mention someone's name. Still, a good read and interesting idea too. As usual some great lines.
I pre-ordered the paperback as soon as I heard this book was coming out - before it even had a confirmed title - but the printing was delayed by the pandemic so I had to wait even longer than I'd expected. It was so worth it though, to see Peter and so many brilliant returning characters (Beverley and Abigail in particular). I won't say anything about the story because it's hard to summarise without spoilers, but I'll just say I really enjoyed the twists and turns.
Aw I feel bad giving this such a low rating but I didn’t enjoy it. Even Kobna Holdbrook-Smith’s superb narration on Audible wasn’t enough to save it this time. I did come at it right off the back of Lies Sleeping which I though was really good. Sadly this instalment felt like a bit of a gear-change, with lots of new characters and a departure from the subjects of previous books. I also wasn’t keen on the tech focus, but yard just me and, reading some of the other reviews, that really appealed too some people though, so don’t let me put you off!
Considerando o livro anterior da saga, este ficou um pouco a desejar...

The further misadventures of Peter Grant are as interesting as ever!
I don't want to say too much, as I was befuddled by the start of the book. But things become clear (as much as they ever do on a story told by Peter Grant). More importantly, the story is interesting, and the humor consistent with past novels. I do enjoy this universe that Ben Aaronovitch has created!

I am unsure why Aaronovich decided to change the format of his book by having jumps back and forward through time, other than for first chapter shock value
But I enjoyed the many tender moments between Beverly and Peter, along with the characters introduced in this series (as a computer scientist the whole plot concept was great too)
ALTHOUGH at one point dice that had been called "percentile" dice were then called d20s but that's a minor nerdy complaint
