This was a good story and I liked the romance subplot but it wasn’t nearly developed enough, it was definitely a lot of tell instead of show, but I give it a pass bc this is a ya book. Will definitely be reading the next book!

The book is incongruent, and if I got this correctly Kazi never makes a mistake, everything always goes as she wants to and everyone else is dumb enough to fall for it

This book was a really solid romantasy—intriguing, fast-paced, and backed by a strong plot. It might not be the best fantasy I’ve ever read, but it’s definitely an amazing and enjoyable one!

I really really enjoyed this book. It was a little confusing at first but I loved the storyline and the romance between the two main characters. The changing point of view i enjoyed a lot.

If I had read this book at 14 I’m sure that would have been deeply obsessed with it. As an adult it was a little harder to move past the classic YA fantasy tropes and it all felt very predictable. For the young readers in my life, though, I will absolutely be recommending this book.
