Well it was slow at some parts but fast paced in other parts and overall i enjoyed it! I wouldn’t call it a legitimate slow burn tho lol, it had funny parts i like her sense of humour and the romance was cute it also had betrayals which i love in FICTION :))) anyways i have high hopes for the next one cause everyone said the second one is so much better 😍 )

4 stars. Audiobook.
I had so much fun with this story! I discovered Pearson's writing really works for me when I read The Remnant Chronicles a couple years ago. I couldn't put that series down and it was the same case with Dance of Thieves. The enemies to lovers romance is definitely the centerpiece of the first book in the duology and I was here for it. The chemistry was really well written and I found myself quite invested in what the final result of their relationship would be. The dreaded miscommunication trope does rear it's head, but in this case, I think most of the miscommunication had a solid reason behind it so it was less frustrating than it usually is.
All of the plot threads tie off a bit too perfectly for my liking, but based on the ending I think Pearson is going to invest more time into the plot rather than the romance in book 2, so I'm certainly interested in continuing.
Overall, Dance of Thieves was a fun angsty romance with lovable side-characters and a well-developed world. Would certainly recommend if you're in the mood for enemies to lovers!
