I loved this book! Adele is an out of work actress who is asked to star in a secret horror film. When she arrives on set, in the woods of Ireland. Once she gets there she realizes things might not be quite right. Odd things start happening to her mimicking the script for the movie. I love epistolary novels so the book within the script within this book really added to the story for me. Does that sound confusing? It's really not. This was a really fun read that was a bit creepy at times. This isn't a dual timeline, but Adele does reminisce about her past a little. It was suspenseful and kept me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen.

You will probably like this one if you like epistolary novels and thrillers with horror elements.

Wow!! I loved this so much. I really enjoyed the unique and clever premise. I also really loved the story-within a-story format. This was fun, creepy, and fast paced. This is my second book by the author and I can say that it certainly won’t be the last. Catherine Ryan Howard has secured her place as an auto read author for me and I can’t wait to hit up her backlist. 🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬/5

Title: Run Time
Author: Catherine Ryan Howard
Format: eAudiobook

Description: Movie-making can be murder...The project: Final Draft, a psychological horror. Promising Young Thing Steve Dade will direct. The tagline: Based on a terrifying true story. That hasn't happened - yet.' The location: A cottage deep in a forest, miles from anywhere in the wintry wilds of West Cork. The lead: Former soap-star Adele Rafferty has stepped in to replace the original actress at the very last minute. She can't help but hope that this will be her big break. The problem: Something isn't quite right on the set of Final Draft.
Adele is about to discover that the real horror lies off the page.

Thoughts: I'm so discombobulated, but in the good way. I'm not sure how to describe the twists and turns in the book! It was a great read/listen but the ending was a bit blah. There were times when things seemed to be going in one way and then something else pops in. And when we got pieces of the puzzle, they fit but they felt weird. Like, in the end when we got the who, what, when and why, the pieces fit and made sense but also didn't make sense. I was left wondering how we got from point A to point B. Which again, wasn't bad, just made the ending kind of meh, given the twists and turns from the book prior to the ending. Despite the lackluster ending, the book was pretty good and I would recommend.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 Stars (Rounded Up)

The story within a story within a story never felt like too, too much, and I did appreciate the ending and how it managed to make sense within the context of the world
