A very quick read with lots of things happening that kept me interested. Definitely a twist I didn't see, and another I was speculating about for some time. Not sure how I felt about the FMC, but she didn't annoy me so that was good. I will definitely read the second one.

thank god she ended up with him

As not much of a fantasy reader, I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. It took me a bit to get into but I enjoyed the book! Once I was into it, I wanted to keep going until I finished. The ending was a bit unexpected and I would read the next in the series.

Having heard a lot of mixed reviews, I have to say I liked it. While the world building was confusing and hard to follow at times from lack of explanation, I found the plot quite enjoyable and the characters kept me hooked. I admit that a lot of the plot twists were well done and had me unable to put the book down. Especially those last 40 or so pages! While the writing was questionable at times, it was honestly a fun read and I’m excited to see how everything will expand in the rest of the series.

I loved this book. Such a good read. I couldn’t put it down it was that good. Didn’t see the end coming.
Loved the plot twists and changes of events.

It’s no secret that people hate when money and recognition come easily to others because they went viral, especially if it’s a young woman, but these reviews are insane. No one in their right mind should compare the writing of a young girl writing a book for young audiences to Tolkien. Like what? Get a grip people. Yes, beautiful prose and unique worlds make for amazing books. But there are plenty of books with average prose and not-so unique plots and characters that are well worth reading just for entertainment value, especially younger, un-jaded readers. THAT is the audience for this book, and everyone else should maybe consider that every book is not for them before ruthlessly attacking an extremely young author who happened to go viral.
