A good introduction to the series. I stayed up until nearly 6am this morning to finish it, so it obviously did a good job of keeping my attention.
I originally found the MC rather unlikeable and annoying, I still don't like her, but at least I'm getting more invested in her welfare as the story progresses.
Plot, setting, characters etc are all interesting enough.. except the "death-by-sex fae" that just seemed a bit over the top and ridiculous.

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this or not--I'm not so into the Faery stuff, but I loved her Highlander series, so I thought I'd give it a try. At first, I still wasn't sure, but I kept reading and I did enjoy it in the end. The style was so different that I wouldn't have known it was the same author, which was a really nice surprise. I plan on reading the rest of the series.

The first time I read this book I returned it to the library at 20% because the FMC is annoying and vain beyond reason.

I picked it back up because I actually enjoyed the fantasy aspect and the world building, but we’ll see if I can continue the series or not.

I hated being in Mac’s head, and this book really suffers from being stuck in the early 2000s and stereotypes that were prevalent then.
