I loved his narrative voice and reading it felt very genuine. To me I liked the non linear story telling of Elliot’s life - I especially found it relatable with his relationship with his father and struggling with mental health as an adult. I would like to know a follow up about Elliot’s life post surgery but I felt that the book really summed up his queer journey pretty well from past to present. There was just a lot I never knew Elliot faced (behind the scenes of movie sets, dysphoria as an actor, and celebrity life) - really glad to have picked this up.

I found Page's memoir very thoughtful. Before I started I would have said the only thing we had in common was being trans. This reads very earnestly as an attempt to show the hard, looping path of coming to terms with himself and his queerness. The suffocation of never being seen for himself comes through, and some of Page's experiences are pretty upsetting.

I applaud Elliot Page for telling his story. It was dark, emotional, and simultaneously joyous for its end result. I recommend this book to anyone, queer or not. It touches on gender dysphoria and how horrid of an experience it can create. I’m glad Page came out the other end.

a deep dive into what it's like growing up trans, and being trans/queer in hollywood. deeply personal. tragic in a lot of ways, hopeful in many others.
