A cute, fun read, perfect for all those who love fairy tales, and are well versed in them. One of my favorite parts of this book was picking out what fairy tale reference was what!

I really loved this book...first of all it takes place in Massachusetts so that's always fun. And it's a modern-twist-up of fairy tales and folklore and I love that, big fan. The main character, Julie, has a great voice and she is brave and interesting and believable, I really liked her. The other cast of characters are just as fun. The style of writing is descriptive but fast enough to keep you turning the pages. Humor, adventure and drama...what more could you ask for? Well there is a librarian that plays an important role...she's not on every page but she's a pivotal part of the story...what fun!

Julie has to rescue her mother, Rapunzel, from the Wild and avoid getting sucked into a fairy tale. Good, clean fantasy.

Great rollicking adventure that is a joy for fairytale lovers. Sad how the wild is a negative force, but great for skewing perspective. Pretty solidly on the shelf so I find myself handselling it regularly. Booktalked it to middle schoolers in Feb. 2009.

Read in 4th grade and loved it! Didn't really understand how Puss-in-Boots was her brother, though.... Kind of made things awkward and confusing. I can't believe that six years later I still remember it was the librarian who let the three blind mice go because she wanted more fairy tales to be written....

A fun example of a story that takes fairy tales and plays. Definitely meant for a younger audience, still lots of fun for older readers though.
