I don’t know that this was what I thought it was going to be, but I appreciated it nonetheless, especially the seasonal grounding rituals
I have had positive experience with holistic medicine and I have always been drawn to the outdoors. This book seemed and obvious choice. The first part of the book focuses on the science behind why the outdoors helps. In this section she also seems to state that things like eating healthy and exercising will not help but then includes them later. The next section divides the year by seasons and gives you ideas for how to enjoy nature in each season. I think that this section would be helpful to parents to find ways to engage their kids with the outdoors. Even with the science and studies provided a lot of the book seemed a little out there to me. Again, if you are a parent looking for activities with kids outside the book does include some ideas.
I listened to the audiobook and skipped through a lot. Wish I would’ve had a physical copy to skim through. Was hoping for more science-based info instead of suggestions on how to have a Solstice party.
Thank you NetGalley, Laura Koniver and New Harbinger for gifting me this book in advance in exchange for my honest opinion! All opinions are mine!
I was on the hunt for a great book that explained the practice of "Grounding" or "earthing" and came across this one on NetGalley! I loved that so much of the book was dedicated to ideas on how to connect with nature and get outside and out of our heads! There were some great meditation exercises that I really enjoyed, as well. As someone who lives in a state with four (sometimes 6) seasons, I appreciated that each season had a section. It makes it easier to pull the book out on days you need extra inspiration!.

Grounding is something everyone should be aware of. It is also a wonderful tool for teaching children to calm themselves as well as adults. Tons of wonderful information in this!
I liked this book because it's full of ideas and I'm fascinated by the Grounding.
