This was another fun read with this cast of characters! I love Amari and her friends. I feel like I would have enjoyed this a bit more if I had reread the previous books as I couldn’t remember everything, but overall still glad I read it and am happy to be back in this. I’m excited to see what other Amari books are coming!

Sadly, I was very disappointed in this, the 3rd book of the series. I really loved the first two and was so excited to get this one. But it was a let down.
First, there are more than a few typos. Things like Things like “Lara darts over the door” No! She darts over TO the door! I heard that whilst I was listening to it as i was driving! Usually the narrator will fix typos like that but this this narrator did not. There were several other glaring errors like that.
Then there was a lack of any attempt at fact checking. The author seems to think that Siberia is frigid in July! NO! The average July temp in Siberia is in the mid-60s. People don’t need to wear heavy fur coats and there is no snow on the ground. Seriously! This is a middle grade book and the author should make at least a slight effort to get the facts straight so he's not telling kids incorrect information! But I guess maybe facts don’t matter anymore?
The plot really wasn’t that well developed. Things seemed to just happen randomly, no setup, no real depth. Some things went too fast and others seemed to drag on. Things didn’t always make sense. Where were the editors? Where were the alpha and beta readers? I'll volunteer to be a beta reader! :-)
The previous books were so good, this was just so disappointing. It felt like this was the last of the series so it didn’t really matter if it were good, just get something out and be done with it. If there are more books in the series, I'm not sure I will read them.
