I just love Alexa Martin’s books and the world of the Denver Mustangs. This is the 3rd book in the series, and I’d recommend starting from the beginning. All of the characters are so well rounded and relatable. They’re funny, caring, fierce and loyal. Brynn and Maxwell are no exception. They’re those friends that you know just need to get together, if only they’d wake up and realize it. The chemistry isn’t quite as good for these two as it was in the previous books, but I still really enjoyed it. It’s unclear if this is the end of the series or if we’re going to get more of the Lady Mustangs. Can’t wait to find out.

Note: I received a free e-ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my review.

I didn't love this, which makes me sad! I like Alexa Martin's Playbook series, Fumbled in particular is my favorite. While this is much of the same premise, there wasn't a lot of conflict in the plot, nor was did Brynn/Maxwell blow me away as a couple. I also wasn't fond of the
Spoilerrape accusation plotline. They do a good job of acknowledging that a rape survivor's word shouldn't be doubted but even then, the plot required you to doubt the accusation to make it work. It felt weird.
However, overall, it was cute, fluffy and quick which is what I want out of my romance novels.

P.S. I need more Poppy!

I'm not one to typically binge a book series, but this month I have done just that. This series just keeps getting better for me. After I read Fumbled, and read the synopsis of Blitzed I figured I would like it. At this point I love this world that Alexa Martin has set up and because I adore side characters I was absolutely ready for Brynn's story. But I didn't think that I would love it more than Fumbled, but I did! First off lets talk about Maxwell Lewis. OMG he is boyfriend goals, he is shy (which I think is adorable), and is the sweetest, most attentive, caring guy that I have read in a long time. I love that he has had a crush on Brynn since the moment he laid eyes on her, but was too shy to say anything. I have read some reviews of people who didn't care for Brynn as a heroine, but I adored her. I love her style, I love that she opened this bar that creates a space for women to support women, I love that she is fiercely independent but still "needs" her dad. I love her friendships with the lady mustangs, and I love that she can't see that she has basically been one of them all along. I love Maxwell and Brynn's relationship. I feel like this book hit the nail on the head as far as the banter and the friendship between these two, and that really helped me believe and root for their relationship. I just loved these two together... the mutual pining, the dates, Maxwell and Brynn's dads relationship (

I love this series very much but found this one to be one of my least favorites. I loved getting to know Maxwell and having all of the characters back again but Brynn is not one of my favorites. I found her to be a little whiny and annoying at times. I would have loved another book about Poppy and TK. But I still love this series and I am very excited to read the next one!

Mini Audiobook Review: 4.5 - Thank you so much to PRH Audio for the complimentary audio!

Brynn is the coolest FMC out of the first 3 so far! She has been such a staple in the first two books that it was nice to finally see her get her own book. She was always one of my favorite characters and this one made her even more cooler. I love the business that she has and how she adopts all these WAGs into her world and now she has a chance to be a WAG herself.

We didn't get a great first impression of Maxwell and it takes just about the whole book to learn why he has been secretive & what may have caused his outburst in the beginning of the book. I just wish he would have been honest up front but I guess then we wouldn't have the conflict.

I just love the community that Alexa has created between all these women. And I love that she shows both sides: the catty, trouble makers and the strong, independent women who lift each other up.  We also get appearances from the prior FMCs which was nice to catch up with them.

First read of 2023

I love Alexa Martin and I decided that my first book of 2023 will be one of hers…and she does it again with book 3! This one is extra special as it resonates with strong, motivated, smart women, who not only make mistakes and are accountable for them - but also pick their girls up from mistakes they’ve made and do the same. I really enjoyed this one. Right balance of steaminess and love, strong women coming together to motivate and support each other, and sisterhood.

It’s a friends to lovers, slow burn of a will they won’t they with the mix of allll the strong female friendships, 7/11 taquitos, and Parks and Recreation on Netflix.

I loved everything about this book. Maxwell Lewis is such a cinnamon roll lead and you just want to root for him and Brynn. They clearly like each other but it’s also clear they got a lot of family baggage (A LOT)!!

What I love about Martins book is they can be silly and goofy but also deal with real issues. These characters feel like a real friend group and the WAGS have such a strong bond. I love how they banded together around Brynn and helped make her and Maxwell a thing!

I am happy and said at the same time to only have one book left in this series!
