Romance Channel screenwriter Nora Hamilton turned the breakup of her marriage into money. The script she wrote detailing her husband leaving her and their kids is being turned into a movie and being shot at her house. She even gets to meet the cast, including heartthrob Leo Vance. Leo doesn’t make the best first impression, getting a bit too cozy on set and drinking Nora’s liquor. However, when he offers Nora $1,000 a day to stay on at her place for another week, she has mercy on him.
What happens next changes Nora’s life forever
Nora is not the normal heroine of romance fiction: she’s a mother of two, 40 years old with frizzy hair and normal clothes. She lives by a schedule and is happy spending time with her kids. She’s far from glamorous, and that’s what makes the reader like her so. It’s her normalcy that makes you want her to find love. Although Leo doesn’t come off as Prince Charming at first, the fact that he loves her schedules and the feeling of family is makes him perfect.
I really enjoyed reading this story because it was a sweet romance. There weren’t any huge acts of valor, but small acts of everyday life that makes these two fall for each other. Clearly, not everyone has the hottest star move into their home, so it’s far from realistic, but the fact that they eat dinner together or watch kid’s soccer games makes you forget that fact and just root for Nora and Leo to get together.
This is a super fact read so if you are a fan of romantic fiction and are looking for something that leaves you smiling, Nora Goes Off Script is worth picking up.
