3.3 AVERAGE

There's an immediate mystery, even before any mention of the murder. What could have happened to break this family apart? There are flashbacks and clues throughout the book and for me this was the biggest puzzle. Despite reading about the murder early on, the victim is not revealed till much nearer the end.
The story is told by different characters so you get all sides of the story and also realise how unreliable any of them could be. The different narrators were very good, keeping the personalities separate.
I loved how the secrets just kept coming. There are sooooo many and they were gradually doled out like sweets, which kept me hooked.
I must say I found it hard to trust Erin from quite early on, though I won't say whether I was right not to! I soon started to suspect she might have more motivations for organising the reunion, as well as reconciliation.
The conclusion is left quite open ended which I was slightly disappointed with, but it makes you wonder what could happen next and definitely sets up for more books.

Wasn’t my favorite because of the writing style. Sometimes I felt like I was reading a book… lol. Also some of it felt redundant. There were some parts that I have no idea why there were mentioned, unless it ties into the next book. The twisty point in the plot did catch me completely off guard which was a pleasant surprise. I liked all the characters too.

Reading a book set at Christmas when it very much isn't Christmas isn't something I'd usually do, but I actually loved it. The Christmas setting was perfectly balanced with the overall storyline. As its so cold here today I curled up over a blanket and it almost felt like it could be Christmas.

There's a whole cast of characters in this book, and I didn't trust any of them! They all had motive, they all seemed like they could be the killer and my thoughts on who it was flip-flopped constantly.

The multi POV and short chapters made this a quick and gripping read which I read in one sitting.  I'm looking forward to book 2.

This was so fun to read! It captured my attention right away and kept me guessing the whole way through. So glad it ended set up for a second one. Can't wait to read it.

Such a fun read! I audibly gasped at the first major plot twist and then was hooked in from then on. Already downloaded the sequel!
