This book is too long for them to be getting together at the 15% mark.
The story is about two men stumbling into a BDSM relationship, finding love and working through past trauma. They also happen to be hockey players. There's a lot of researching BDSM and a lot of conversations about what they want from each other in bed and outside of it, and yet the characters still found a way to overthink everything and worry about being together all the time. I was mostly bored, but sometimes it was cute.

This book is absolutely heart-wrenching in the best fucking way. Watching Julien and Isaac fall in love was beautiful and wonderful - and HOT, but mostly beautiful and wonderful. I was looking for a hockey book with "a golden retriever that would also get in a fight for you" AND HELLO, THAT IS BOTH OF THESE BOYS. AMAZING.

Definitely check the tags since there's a really healthy dose of heartbreaking angst in here. So worth it, though. Can't wait to read Nisha and Elias next.

dnf. I don't get the other reviews, were we reading the same book? It's not so much that it's a bad book it's just that... there's so much better out there. Sloppy POV changes, every chapter could have been half the length, hockey players with interesting names when we know they're all named Jacob.

DNF because these characters really switched up. Like what happened in the span of 2 pages to completely flip both their personalities

Hot! M/M romance with such well-written kink.

Review:
This book was long, but I felt engaged throughout. I saw some of the twists and turns coming, but I really loved the heart and soul of this book.

I usually am not at all a fan of long books because I feel most books over 450 pages are full of filler and fluff - I think this is the only 450+ page book I’ve ever read that I loved and that had no filler in it.

But - it does have one of my book pet peeves in it which is a character who speaks another language and the author doesn’t translate for us what they are saying. Nothing takes you out of a book more than having to stop and pull out a translator. Like come on give us a footnote or something!
