Delusion in Death

J.D. Robb

4.16 AVERAGE

The ending seemed to be an add on because the book wasn't long enough. Basic Dallas material.

Starting a series with #35 is not a good idea...

She's been on a roll for awhile. This is a great addition!

Hardcover
Always good for a diversion...I'd LOVE to be insider her brain for just a few moments!! The inventive ways she has of creative destruction..kinda awesome, kinda scary lol

Again, J.D. Robb delivers. This time we are plunged into death on a larger scale when a murderer uses an unknown substance to cause one of the most gruesome death scenes in a Robb book yet. Eve is quickly on the case with her Expert Civilian Consultant at her side. She's still battling her personal demons but it doesn't take up the whole book. There its growth in Eve, we get to see the softer side of her when she suspects Mavis and her family could potentially be at risk. We also get to witness a bit of growth between Eve and Peabody, as well as Eve and Somerset.

It's good to know that after all this time without reading J.D.Robb I can come back to it and still love her stories as much as I did back when I read my first book.

description

Favorite characters of a lifetime, great mysteries. What more can a lady with a penchant for crime reads ask for?? These are some of my go-to-books when I need something that comforts me, something that I know I will enjoy reading. Especially after such disappointing previous readings. I sincerely hope they stay that way for a long time.

He caught her face in his hands, and despite her quick wince in case any cops watched, kissed her, long, tender, deep. “I want to keep you, till the end of days.”
“I can live with that. And I’m damn glad this day is about to end.”

Every time I finish an In Death book, I've always paused myself and thought of this couple. How much they complimented and supported each other, through the happiest and worst of days. Truly, they are meant for each other in every way and sense. Really really one of the best couple I've ever read.

Anyway, sappy thoughts aside, this book has the highest death toll compared to other In Death books. A whopping
127 deaths
. So many people died. Just because of an idea. Damn.

As usual, the side characters were what made this story alive. We got more scene with Dallas's men and I love every minute of it. Peabody was witty as always. God, I love these people so much!
