So when the previous book in this series ended it ended like on a sort of Oh what now moment for me. And I needed the next story to see what would happen. The book started on a really emotional note for me.
And I enjoyed the story. I just felt seeing as it was so short that there could have been some parts that could have been explained. Like the beginning of the book when Aubrey found out she was pregnant and then four years later, it was like Denver was in her life since she found out she was pregnant, but there was nothing that indicated that.
I enjoyed their story nevertheless. Denver knew what he wanted and he was the one that fought for it. Aubrey kept on pushing him away and came up with some lame excuses why they couldn't be together. But in the end she couldn't deny her feelings for Denver and knew if she didn't step up he wouldn't be fighting for her anymore.
All in all the story was good, I just wish there was a bit more explaining on how they got to a certain point in their relationship.

One Last Wish is the third in the Shooting Stars series and I adored the first two, so jumping into this one was so easy for me. And like the stories before it, I quickly became connected to the characters portrayed and wanted for them immediately. This one starts out hard, but not as hard as it could be. The quickness of how things play out helps you keep the connection between "your" guy and girl. The sadness is like an extra in a movie, it's there but not overwhelming or taking up too much of your heart.
Timing is everything in this one, from saying what you feel when you feel it, or letting things play out and patiently waiting for it to be the right time. What did happen was between the time lapsed...you wanted for these two to be each other's everything. You want for them to leave the "what if's" and just fall into the "what now" category of loving each other. Taking someone for granted is so easily done, and when you think you are faced with losing that someone, it all crashes down on you. For better or worse. This is one of my favorite series from Ms. Reynolds, it is heartfelt, hard, and worth every page. A different kind of BOOM but shakes you to the core all the same. Quick, easy, beautiful tale of loss, love and family.

Denver & Aubrey
I needed this story! Since reading Zach and Shelby’s story, I knew this one was necessary. It was sad and beautiful and absolutely amazing! I just adore Denver and Aubrey and I love that they got their happily ever after. ❤️

Uneventful even though the plot had potential. Not much explanation or development where it was needed | Missed opportunity romances usually give me great anxiety, but in this series, they just work out so well. These two teens didn’t have the maturity to handle the feelings when things didn’t work out exactly as they wanted. When life kicked them down, they moved on. When it did the same as adults, they reacted differently, and that gave them the foundation they needed to build their lives together <3
I have been waiting since I met Aurora Rose Reynolds at a signing for her to finish this series. I fell in love with the first two books, devouring them, then waiting in a long line just so she could sign them. They were amazing, but One Last Wish blew them out of the water.
I laughed. I cried. I cried some more. But in the end I celebrated one of the best endings I have read in awhile. Tonight when I look up at the stars I will think of Cordova and smile.
Pick up this book and discover that second chances are hard won. Second chances are everlasting. Second chances are the reason to love hard.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another second chance romance and the last book of a series where the heroes met again after several years of absence in a small town of Alaska : I LOVE the very original story (with the death of the husband of the heroine, misunderstandings etc.), the flashbacks from the past (although I would have liked to see Lyra grow up), seeing the heroes meet again or tear each other apart and Lyra whom I loved x)
In short, the last book of a perfect series for second chance fans <3
One Last Wish is a fast-paced contemporary romance. Normally, I like stories that don't go into too much detail, however, I felt like the author left too much out of this story. There were already a couple of things that happened in the prologue that were a bit cliche, but even though those were minor it still impacted me in how I viewed the characters and their actions further along in the story. Aubrey married her best friend, however there is only one scene of them together, which resulted in me not feeling anything when he died. Also the way they ended up together was weird, and didn't feel real. On one hand I would've wanted to see more of the past highlighted in this book, but on the other hand I was happy we could go to present time pretty quickly.
I think One Last Wish was an okay contemporary romance about two people who had been in love with each other since the moment they met, but did not end up together because they misinterpreted certain situations. Did I feel the love between them? Yes, I did. The moment Aubrey needed Denver, he left everything behind to be there for her. Denver did not hide his feelings for Aubrey, however she was hesitant to open herself up to him. I could feel Denver's frustrations through the book, but he was pretty patient and I loved that about him. He didn't let her hide her feelings for him. Lyra, Aubrey's daughter, was such a cute little girl. I especially loved her relationship with Denver. At the end of the day One Last Wish was a sweet and light contemporary romance, that kept me entertained until the end.
